Sunday Mornings for Children

Sunday School: 9:15 - 10:15 a.m.

Preschool Children
Our preschool department cares for our youngest children, infant - age 4, and meets in downstairs classrooms for both the Sunday School and Worship hours, 9:15 - 11:30. Our preschool children are divided into the following age groups:

  • Infants - loving nursery care

  • Ones - play and loving nursery care
(Parents please bring diaper bag with snack and drink)
  • Twos - playtime, snacktime, group activities, nursery care during worship hour

Kindergarten - 5th Grades (Rotational Model)
Our school-age children meet in the upstairs children's department. Children study a Bible Character or Bible Theme during a 4 or 5-week series. Together, they are introduced to the character or theme, then in subsequent Sundays, children rotate through a series of activities or workshops, among which might be:

  • Science
  • Drama
  • Art
  • Games
  • Music
  • Computers

Each workshop explores the character or theme through an age-appropriate activity. Exciting, different, hands-on, and fun, these workshops teach children the stories of the Bible and reinforce their understanding of who God is and how God works in the world.

Worship Hour: 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Infants through age 4 remain in their Sunday School classes for continued activities and care during the Worship Hour.

10:15-11:30 - Worship Education (K - Grade 5)
While 3rd - 5th graders are provided with a Worship Kit and attend the regular service, K - 2nd graders attend the first part of the service, then leave for their own special activities. Second graders focus on learning what worship is and complete a series of lessons on the Lord’s Prayer, Communion, the Church Calendar, the Hymnal and the Doxology, Baptism, Marriages and Funerals, and other important issues as they arise. Second graders are given a study Bible at the beginning of this year, and are awarded their own hymnal upon graduation from Worship Ed.
