Choirs at St. John's

Chancel Choir
7:30 - 9:00 p.m. Thursdays
The Chancel Choir is for singers college age and above. This is the regular choir for Sunday worship. The importance of meaningful and well-prepared worship music at St. John's is most keenly reflected in the commitment of this vital choir. While extensive musical training is not a prerequisite, those of our congregation who have musical backgrounds are urged to share their talents in the Chancel Choir

Handbell Choir
6:15 - 7:30 p.m. Sundays
This experienced group of adult ringers presently gathers occasionally through the year to prepare music for worship.

Youth Choir
5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sundays
Our Youth Choir is open to all students in the sixth through twelfth grades. This group participates in many services of worship throughout the year. The Youth Choir's schedule is closely associated with the Sunday Night Live program of Youth Ministry.

Children's Choirs
5:30 - 6:10 p.m. Wednesdays
Our three Children's Choirs meet during the academic year as part of our Wednesday Evening Family Night program. The children go from rehearsal to dinner and on to Missions Education activities.

  • 3's & 4's Preschool Choir - Room 223
  • Music Makers (kindergarten - 2nd grade) - Room 225
  • Young Musicians (Grades 3-5) - Choir Room

Special Music Classes
Throughout the year, special 4-5 week music classes are offered as part of our ongoing Family Night series of classes. These classes are open to anyone as a general opportunity for growth and education. Recent classes have been: group voice class, hymnology, and a women's chorus.
