Our October outing will be a day trip to Mt. Airy on Thursday, October 12. We will meet at the church at 9:00 am and then leave at 9:15am. We will have an early 11:00am lunch at Shelton Vineyards and go from there to downtown Mt. Airy. In Mt. Airy we will go the Andy Griffith Museum and also have a little free time in downtown Mt. Airy. On our way home we will drive up to the top of Pilot Mountain. Once there you will have the option to hike around the knob or to sit on the patio which overlooks the Yadkin River Valley. While there are some benches at the top, it is much easier for folks to sit together on the patio if they bring their own lawn chairs. There is storage space in the back compartment of the bus for your chairs. We should return home by 6:00 pm that evening. The cost is $30 for transportation and admission into the Andy Griffith Museum.
