Rev. Haley Blackwell

Haley Blackwell joined the staff of St. John’s in the Fall of 2022. She holds an M.Div from George W. Truett Theological Seminary and a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy with an emphasis in Christian Spiritual Formation from Friends University. During college, Haley was able to discover a strong faith rooted in spiritual disciplines. This lead her desire to be a minister to college students. During her time in seminary, she worked with Baylor University’s Spiritual Life as a Resident Chaplain, and upon graduation returned to Friends University as the Associate Campus Pastor of Formation. Haley has spent time studying the faith formation of young people and how to help youth maintain their faith through their college years and beyond.
Haley and her husband Austin moved to Charlotte in July 2022. They have a rat terrier named Scout who has a personality much bigger than she is. Haley and Austin love doing escape rooms together, collecting rare plants (they have a greenhouse in their spare room!) and playing Wingspan together. Haley spends her spare time researching new technology, playing with Scout, and eating chips and queso.
