DESCRIPTION:St. John’s Retired Adults & Friends head to Shelby\, NC! \nOn Friday March 21 we will go to Shelby for an early lunch at Red Bridges Barbecue\, followed by a visit to the Earl Scruggs Center in the old Cleveland County Courthouse. \nWe will meet at the church at 9:50 am and leave at 10:00 am. We will return that day by 3:00 pm. The cost will be $20 (for a spot on the bus and admission into the Earl Scruggs Center) plus purchasing your own lunch at Bridges. We can look to set up a carpool driver if/when we get beyond 15 people. \nPlease email Lee Gray if you plan to participate.

DESCRIPTION:Friday\, October 25 – We will meet the church at 11:00 am to coordinate our carpools and then walk or drive to Big Ben British Pub & Restaurant for lunch at 11:15 am. After lunch people can carpool (or drive separately if they desire) to the Sullenberger Aviation Museum. (4108 Minuteman Way 28208 – It’s on Charlotte-Douglas Airport land) On the tour there are places to sit down and you can go at your own pace. \nWe have tickets for 1:30 pm and they can receive us up to 25 minutes before or after that time. We will need to fine tune our number of tickets\, so please let LGray@sjcharlotte.org  know if you plan to attend by October 17. Please bring $20\, cash or check payable to St. John’s\, the day we leave in order to pay for your ticket at them museum.

It’s gonna be splashingly fun! \nParents\, drop your kids off at church at 5:00pm on Saturday\, August 10. Our SJBC youth\, Haley\, and Kheresa will slip\, and slide\, and splash\, and giggle\, with children 3 years of age through 5th grade. \nChildcare for babies – two years of age will be provided by Mon Aye and Zebb Young\, two of our WDS teachers. They will be accompanied by SJBC youth. \nThe cost of the event is $10 per child\, which will help cover the costs associated with dinner\, snacks\, and supplies. \nWe’ll dry off and be ready to meet parents at 8:00pm.

We have a 15 passenger Bus and 15 tickets reserved. We can likely add an additional driver and tickets if we know soon enough. This show will likely sell out eventually though. Please meet at the church at 9:00am so that we can leave by 9:15am. This will allow us eat lunch and have a little time in downtown Hendersonville before the play. \nWe will return to Charlotte around 5:30pm that evening. \nPlease bring your lunch money and a check for $70 made out to St. John’s to cover the cost of your ticket and bus rental.
