J. Noel Lance serves as Minister of Worship and Music at St. John's Baptist Church, where he plans and coordinates worship, directs the choirs and handbells, and collaborates with musicians and others to create meaningful worship experiences throughout the year.

Originally from Florence, South Carolina, Noel moved to Charlotte in 2003 and has spent his career building community through both music and personal connection. In addition to his role at St. John's, he has worked as a professional hairdresser for more than two decades, a vocation that has allowed him to form lasting relationships and share in the stories of people from all walks of life.

Noel believes that worship should engage both heart and mind, drawing people into a deeper awareness of God's presence and purpose. Outside of church and the salon, he enjoys traveling, exploring historic places, attending concerts, and discovering new experiences that enrich both life and faith.
